The “Hollywood on the Hudson” mixer will be attended by national and local filmmakers, industry members, and representatives from all surrounding counties, giving attendees an unprecedented opportunity to gather and support economic development initiatives which relate to film production - a business that brings $6 billion annually to NY State.
HVFC hopes to raise the funding it requires in order to receive matching funds from State and County Economic Development Agencies. This money will insure the continuing effort to promote and deliver sustainable economic development by attracting and supporting film, video and media production in the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and beyond.
The Hudson Valley Film Commission (HVFC) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides substantial FREE support to independent & studio features, short films, student projects, TV ads and regional filmmakers (see projects below). HVFC also maintains a widely viewed FREE online production directory and message board, newsletter blurbs, casting and crew calls and job opportunities. In addition to providing this forum to filmmakers and local businesses, HVFC provides technical, location and talent guidance, referrals and promotion through press and advertising opportunities.
