2025 SPRING RECAP

The 2025 production calendar started off with several noteworthy projects, including Dominion, Reimagined, and Steven Spielberg’s Non View, which hired 50 local extras and drivers. Spielberg was last in the region in December of 2004 when production took place on War of the Worlds, starring Tom Cruise. A thousand extras were used back then.

The second quarter has already kicked off with 3 feature film productions. We are working with more than ten other potential Film and TV productions with the hope they will commit to filming locally. The New York film tax credits have had a quick positive effect!

As part of our ongoing promotional initiatives, we actively spotlight productions filmed in area. Recent TV highlights include The Four Seasons on Netflix and Severance on Apple TV+.

Reimagined, In Poughkeepsie

Several feature film productions are also set for release, including 2024 Oscar Nominee Celine Song’s Materialists (Killer Films, A24) featuring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. Materialists follows a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker who finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex. John Hutchinson (local 817) found the ideal wedding location where filming took place over a week in May of 2024. Watch the trailer at www.tinyurl.com/materialistsaccord

Materialists in High Falls

In June, Tribeca will highlight two other local indie films that were filmed entirely in the region.

One particular highlight will be Lucio Castro’s After This Death, starring Lee Pace Mia Maestro.

After falling into a lustful affair with a mysterious frontman (Lee Pace), a woman (Mia Maestro) must reckon with her own deep-seated desires and sense of purpose after he vanishes without a trace, leaving her caught between toxic fans and ideals of what could be. Oh Hi, in Germantown

Also screening at Tribeca is Sophie Brooks’ Oh, Hi! featuring Molly Gordon and Logan Lerman. A limited theatrical release is set for July 25, 2025, via Sony Pictures Classics.

Iris (Molly Gordon) has met her perfect guy, Isaac (Logan Lerman), and is enjoying their first romantic getaway together — what could go wrong? This clever and charmingly odd dark comedy takes on the highs and lows of modern dating and the ways it makes us all a little crazy. Watch trailer at www.tribecafilm.com/films/oh-hi-2025
